Our Butterfly House consists of a 2,000 sq. ft. free-flying area where hundreds of colorful Belizean butterflies flutter around you! As part of your visit, you will see and learn about the anatomy and physiology of butterflies, their life history, their interaction with host plants, feeding habits, egg-laying practices and reproduction, predators and defense mechanisms, their economic and ecological importance, and threats to these magnificent insects. Species that may be observed include the Blue Morpho, Owl, Zebra, Postman, Colubura, Cattleheart, Queen, Monarch, Malachite, Julia and Giant Swallowtail. This is a perfect and colorful photo opportunity!
